Hi there!
I’m Roni and I’m the artist behind SylphMoon Art.
I create fantasy illustrations and paintings. A lot of the inspiration for my work comes from myth, history, and nature.
I began drawing very young and often only had access to pencils, ballpoint pens, and cheap paper. This limitation cultivated a love of grayscale and black and white art.
Growing up I really loved a lot of storybook art from fairy tales and took a lot of inspiration from old pen and ink illustrations. At this time I learned graphite drawing and started writing my own stories.
As a teen I became obsessed with manga in large part due to it being all black and white art. This period was when I started really getting into learning pen and ink and my lifelong love of this medium started.
As as young adult I obtained my associate’s degree in Interactive Media Design and while I do not currently work in the field I incorporate so many of the design principles I learned in my work.
I am currently creating art around my work schedule and getting back into story writing. After a long period of experimentation in various mediums I have once again come back to pen and ink. Most of my work at this time is going to be in pen and ink.
I upload timelapse drawing videos to my YouTube to share my creation process. Usually videos go out every week or two.
I am working out the best way to offer print options for my work.
